People are generally very reluctant to take care of themselves – until they have a health scare that frightens them into looking into their lifestyle! Over the past decade I have found that most will happily get themselves to the gym every day, but to ask them to spend an hour a week to plan and prepare meals seems as insurmountable a goal as to climb Everest in an hour. I believe nutrition is a major key element to good health, along with regular movement, good rest, plenty of water and a quality sleep pattern.

Lizzie

My first introduction to Lizzie was through my daughter who trained with Lizzie for a charity challenge cycle ride from London to Paris and with personal training and support from Lizzie the objective was achieved – my daughter made it to Paris. My daughter gave me a gift voucher for Personal Vitality which could be used for either personal training or nutritional advice, both available from Lizzie. I was horrified to receive this present as I was rather hoping for a number of alternative ideas! However, I opted for nutritional advice – the words “personal trainer” scared me! 

 

I learnt a lot and soon realised the importance and benefits of healthy living – accepting it as a lifestyle change and not a quick fix diet. My sessions with Lizzie were excellent and then I progressed into some fitness sessions with Lizzie in the comfort of my own sitting room.  I have never enjoyed partaking in sport, the word “gym” terrified me but a more “softly, softly approach” worked for me and then one day Lizzie suggested that the sitting room was no longer providing enough stimulation and I was ready to enter the gym. I was cautious but I put my confidence in Lizzie and stepped out of the comfort zone of my sitting room into an unknown world of a gym!

It is now over 5 years since I first met Lizzie and 2 years since I started weekly gym sessions with Lizzie at my side and I now see it as part of my weekly routine, part of my life.  Without doubt I feel more confident, I have a sense of well-being and I believe I am finally giving my body the respect which it deserves. Health and fitness are fundamental to life; I enjoy life and just wish I had seen the sense years ago to take action.  Believe me, it does work and it works best with Lizzie!

“I started with Lizzie when my body and mind were in a really difficult place. As a young person deciding what to do with my life, the stress of deciding was leading to ill health through bad nutrition and depression from lack of confidence, direction and the feeling of no body to talk to. As I started working out with Lizzie I immediately felt the change in my moods. The happy endorphins kick in and after every training session the good moods lasted longer. I became myself again. It was NOT EASY and it didn’t happen quickly but Lizzie was always there even when we weren’t working out. She was always there via email, text or a call. This is also not just for me, she was there for all of her clients but yet you felt like you were her only client.

Physically my body soon started to change. Don’t get me wrong it was HARD. Driving to the sessions became a challenge but then I remember the feeling after leaving each session and I started to drive faster and be early to every session.

Lizzie’s knowledge is so vast for every type of body shape and gym trainer. If you can’t shift that stubborn weight, Lizzie WILL find a way. Since starting with Lizzie I have met some wonderful people. I have taken part in many challenges such as 10K, Wolf Runs and Rowing regattas. (Which we won!!)

Lizzie has dramatically changed my thoughts about food, I’m now addicted to fitness and I feel more confident in myself. I would never use another trainer again because I would always be comparing them to Lizzie.She taught me that if you're not risking anything.....you're risking everything! Who can say that about their personal trainer eh??!”

“If you need a personal trainer who is motivated, dedicated and passionate about fitness then Lizzie should be your first choice. Having never run more than a minute before working with Lizzie, she happily (rather too happily in fact) took on the challenge to train myself and 3 friends to run a half marathon (13.1 miles!) in 12 weeks.

 

Lizzie put together a bespoke programme for the 4 of us to help us tackle this challenge. Each and every step of the way she was providing encouragement (and sometimes even a little push) to help us get from flab to fit in 12 weeks.

On the big day itself- having already run the course once, she ran back up the course to encourage the last of us over the finish line. You can't ask for more than that!

I decided to be a healthier me in November 2017, I began asking around on Facebook for recommendations and Lizzie’s name was mentioned A LOT! Lizzie and I made contact and she put me at ease straight away, fast forward 12 months and with help and guidance from Lizzie I have discovered a new improved me.  I was Type 2 diabetic with a HbA1c f 53 and rising, after 7 months my reading was down to 42 and normal – the doctor said if he didn’t know my history I was not diabetic. I now have a reading of 38 and have been taken off the “diabetic register”.

 

Every session with Lizzie is fantastic, Lizzie does not judge and is very supportive. I now have a good routine and am loving life even on bad days Lizzie always spurs you on and I leave with a smile.
